Telangana,-- The Center is taking steps to resolve the water disputes between the Telugu states as soon as possible. The Krishna and Godavari River Boards, which have notified themselves under the Partition Act, have decided to see to it that they start operations as soon as possible. To this end the two river boards convened a joint meeting. The meeting will be held on the 9th at Jalasaudha in Hyderabad. The governments of the two states have been informed to this extent. This meeting will mainly discuss the issues in the Gazette mentioned by the Government.
The Telangana government is notifying the river boards .. objecting to the inclusion of all projects in it. AP, however, agreed to the notification but objected to the inclusion of all the projects in them. Despite attending the Krishna Board meeting two days ago, it raised objections to the Gazette. Moreover, they have made it clear that they will tell the center. Under these circumstances it is interesting to note that the two river boards decided to hold a joint meeting. The Union Water Ministry has directed the chairpersons of the two boards to prepare an action plan by date to implement the Gazette issued by the Center by the deadline. Godavari River Ownership Board with 11 members .. Krishna River Ownership Board with 12 members set up coordination committees.
The river ownership boards now have to play a key role in resolving water disputes between the two Telugu states. Due to non-notification of boards in the past .. Krishna Board used to make water pumps by mutual consent as per the previous agreements. But now the Center has to notify the boards that the two governments have violated those agreements. Now the projects are under the purview of the entire board. Boards distribute water in accordance with past agreements. However, for every small matter, the approval of the boards has to be taken in the case of projects. For this reason the two state governments are not so favorable. Information was also sent to Telangana to come to the meeting on the ninth day. However, Telangana is not ready to attend. With this .. it seems likely that the Center will express the opinion that KCR is not ready for the solution of river waters.
