The Supreme Court has issued notices to the Center on the Pegasus dispute. The CJI bench of the Supreme Court heard a petition filed by journalists seeking an inquiry into the matter. On this occasion Kapil Sibal on behalf of the petitioners .. Surveillance with Pegasus Spyware claimed that it was an attack on the values, personal privacy, dignity and decency of our republic. This is rogue software. The Israeli company NSO only sells it to governments. A full inquiry should be ordered into the matter.
The tribunal, which heard the arguments of the petitioner's lawyer, commented that if the allegations of espionage were true, it was undoubtedly a serious matter. Chief Justice NV Ramana said that there were allegations of espionage and surveillance in 2019. He did not know whether any efforts were being made to find out more. However, without knowing what the central government's argument is .. the decision can not be made clear. The next hearing was adjourned until next Tuesday. Representatives of the central government were then ordered to attend the hearing.
Political scandal erupted after the Pegasus spy affair broke out. All opposition parties are demanding an inquiry. BJP allies are demanding the same. Are being debated in Parliament. But .. the center says let's discuss anything else except Pegasus. Opposition groups called for the beleagured PM to resign. The matter is currently before the Supreme Court. If the Center is willing to stand trial in the coming trial .. the Supreme Court is also likely to order a trial.
