Cards were recently issued only to those who applied before 2018 in the state. Nearly 4.60 lakh people who applied later were not given. Everything else is still pending. However, in the wake of the forthcoming Huzurabad by-election, the government has taken a decision especially for the people there. The site has opened to apply for ration cards. However, even if the link is open, there is a propaganda that only the residents of Huzurabad can give new cards.
The government has kept the poor applying for ration cards pending for the last seven years. So far 5,63,411 ration card applications are on the line. Another 5 lakh new people are ready to apply. Recently offered only 3 lakhs. In this context, there is criticism of opening the site to issue new ration cards to Huzurabad residents alone.
